Teacher needed for SEND school in Barking. job vacancy in Barking, Contract position

Are you a qualified teacher with experience working with pupils with SEND? Or, are you a mainstream teacher with a particularly keen interest in working in SEND?

ITN Mark Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive teacher to work in an SEND school in Barking and Dagenham, which is only a 20 minute bus ride from Barking station (the bus stops directly out the front of the school!). This role is commencing as soon as possible, and will run until the end of the academic year initially. However, it has the possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school caters for pupils with quite severe ASD and complex needs, so previous experience catering for pupils with similar requirements would be a distinct advantage! Class sizes are small (only 6 - 8 pupils per class), and the support provided throughout the school is excellent.

The campus is very modern, as it was built in 2015 - the facilities are simply outstanding! The school caters for pupils from ages 4 - 16, with both a primary and secondary school on site, so a willingness to potentially across the age ranges is essential.

For this role, ideally you will:
- Be available 5 days a week.
- Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Possess an up-to-date DBS, or be willing to acquire one through ITN Mark Education.
- Have previous experience catering for pupils, preferably at secondary age, with ASD and complex needs.
- Be able to differentiate lesson plans, and teaching instructional strategies, to engage all learners.
- Be able to use positive reinforcement when supporting behaviour difficulties - working with pupils with ADHD this
would be an advantage.

Benefits of working with ITN Mark Education:

  • Paid to scale after day one
  • A branch with 25 years of knowledge and experience in education recruitment
  • Client knowledge that is second to none
  • Excellent salaries fitting to your skills and experience
  • Careers support and advice
  • Opportunity to work on our guaranteed pay scheme
  • Wide range of teaching environments and age groups
  • Opportunities to widen your current teaching experiences
  • £100 referral bonus scheme for any other teacher you recommend

Enhanced rates of pay will be available for high performing candidates with excellent references.
