German Teacher job vacancy in Exeter, Temporary position

Germany has one of the largest economies in the world, and its lovely, high-end, swanky products (I'm looking at you, BMW, Audi, MontBlanc, and, err… Haribo?) are exported at an enormous scale internationally. Being able to work with businesses in Germany is going to be a huge advantage for people in the economy of the future, so teaching German is an important job that could have a serious impact on students' lives later on.

"But Sir/Miss, everywhere speaks English anyway" is something you'll be used to hearing if you've spent any amount of time in a MFL classroom. The school I'm working with is aspiring to have one of the best MFL departments in the South West, and is made up of 7 teachers who are creative and passionate about getting students enthusiastic about learning languages. When you combine this passion with trips, support from SLT, and proper parent and community engagement, you're left with students who see the value of languages, and want to learn them.

The school has an Outstanding 6th Form, and the rest of the school was graded 'Good' by Ofsted recently.

It's an easy commute from Exeter, and Taunton is pretty easy as well. The school is looking for a German Teacher to cover the tail end of a maternity leave, so from January to Easter initially, 4.5 days a week (Monday mornings off). You would be happy teaching German up to GCSE, and if you can offer another language, that would be handy as well.
