Candidates

Since January 2010, CDSS has been committed to providing both short and long-term employment solutions to newly qualified and experienced teachers across West and North Yorkshire. With an affiliation with many Catholic schools, the supply service has been successful when accommodating a wide variety of candidates’ needs, ranging from day to day supply assignments to long term and permanent posts.

Teachers

We are looking for committed teachers to take responsibility for the teaching of Key Stages One and Two within primary schools and all subjects from Key Stage 3 to 5 in secondary schools, using imaginative and effective methods to encourage the children to strive to reach their full potential.

Successful teachers must:

  • Be sympathetic to the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Hold QTS and eligibility to work in the UK
  • Promote equal opportunities in the classroom
  • Possess extensive subject knowledge
  • Think and plan strategically
  • Commit to the learning and development of pupils
  • Teach at a consistently outstanding level
  • Have strong interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, parents and students effectively
  • Have the ability to plan and assess in line with national curriculum requirements

Teaching Assistants

We are looking for committed Teaching Assistants to work in both Key Stages One and Two within Catholic primary schools, using inventive and effective methods to encourage the children to strive to reach their full potential. Teaching Assistants and Nursery Nurses must hold at least Level 3 qualifications and GCSE Maths and English.

We are also looking for Cover Supervisors to work in Catholic Secondary Schools, supporting, advising and supervising pupils throughout various lessons for short term cover. Cover Supervisors must be of graduate level and have at least six months experience working with children/young adults.

Successful support staff must:

Administrators

Successful administrators hold the following attributes:

  • Previous experience of CMIS/SIMS is essential
  • Experience of working within a school office is essential
  • General administration and office duties including answering general telephone enquiries
  • High level of written and oral communication skills are essential
