Teaching Assistant job vacancy in Birmingham, Contract position

I am looking for a dedicated teaching assistant with an excellent knowledge of the curriculum to support Year 2 SATS. Interventions and booster work in literacy, maths and any other areas of the curriculum would be carried out on a 1:1/ small group basis. This would ensure you are supporting the pupils in your groups fully as well as supporting the teacher you work with.

Can you please only apply for this role if you have had previous experience of supporting Year 2 during SATS as this is an essential.

If due to other working or family commitments, you are only available on specific regular days we can help you.

The successful candidates must hold a Level 3 NVQ/CACHE minimum and must have experience working within a primary school environment within the past two years.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK and hold a minimum Level 3 or equivalent in Education
  • Extensive curriculum knowledge
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children
  • Promote positive behaviour always
  • Engage with all children and boost their self esteem
  • Be able to communicate clearly and support the classroom Teacher in all aspects
  • Totally committed to the learning and development of pupils within your care
  • Develop and promote positive relationships

You may also be required to undertake administration tasks such as handing out/collecting papers, photocopying, some light marking, putting up/taking down displays, etc.
