SEND Teacher

Are you an inspiring teacher who is looking for more of a challenge? Are you looking to make a difference to children with SEND?

ITN Mark Education is working with a specialist school on the outskirts of Bristol who are looking for a Primary SEND teacher to join their team from February.

The school caters to children from Nursery up to 6th form with SLD, PMLD and Autism. Due to an increase in student referrals our school are now looking to open a new class catering to KS1 ASD. The needs of the children means the school have low numbers of students to high numbers staff which means you will have support within the classroom.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have QTS
  • Have the resilience, open mindedness and ability to understand the challenges that students face in education
  • Be adaptable and reactive to the class room and learners' needs
  • Have strong classroom management and behaviour management and the ability to work positively with children with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to motivate and encourage pupils
  • Have experience as an SEND teacher

Training in SCIPP, PECS, Makaton or other forms of de-escalation or nonverbal communication training would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will need to be prepared to attend an interview with ITN Mark Education and pass our vetting procedures should you be successful for this role.
