Science teacher job vacancy in Swindon, Permanent position

ITN Mark Education is recruiting a science teacher for a secondary academy in Wiltshire, either for a full time or 0.6 FTE post from September. The school would really like to hear from physics or chemistry specialists who can teach those subjects up to A Level, but we would also encourage biologists to apply as the school would also like to overstaff the science department to take the pressure off the GCSE teaching.

The school is an easy commute from Swindon, and even Bristol or Gloucester if you're motivated. After a very recent Ofsted inspection, the school was rated 'good', and is now supporting another academy in the local authority as a school improvement partner. Students' behaviour is reflected by the school's GCSE results which, in some subjects, are in the top 20% nationally, and well above the national average in all areas.

If the school achieves its aim of overstaffing the science department, then the workload for all science teachers should be impacted significantly, and Ofsted has already commented on the quality of the science work that students have been producing at GCSE and A Level.

The school has a strong induction programme for NQTs, and combined with the opportunity to work in other science departments, observe best practice and be supported by your mentor.
