Primary Teaching Assistant job vacancy in Cardiff, Temporary position

Are you looking for teaching assistant work?

We are recruiting teaching assistants that will support classroom activities on a day-to-day basis, in Primary Schools across South Wales.

Your role will be to support the class teacher; you may be required to support the class as a whole, in smaller intervention groups or on a 1:1 basis.

The role does not require specific teaching assistant or childcare qualifications; it is, however, essential that you have previous and relevant experience of working with children, in an educational setting or similar.

You will need to be an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated individual, who is passionate about working with children, to make a difference to their learning and educational growth. This work is a great way to gain experience in a wide variety of schools and building good relationship with both professionals and children.

The work available is very flexible, with the option for full time and part time jobs, ensuring that it will be suitable for you to fit around any other current commitments; family needs or any other jobs.

There is also the possibility that these roles turn into short or long term bookings, offering more security and stability.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will be a positive influence to the children you support even if only for a day
  • Have a strong work ethic and take pride in your presentation, attendance and time keeping
  • Will go above and beyond to ensure you build relationships with staff, parents and children
  • Be mindful to ensure that the children you support have a positive learning experience
  • Are able to recognise the child's needs & adapt the learning accordingly to ensure children thrive
  • Promote positive behaviour always
  • Engage with all children and boost their self-esteem
  • Will have a sound understanding of the term 'Safe Guarding' and know the differences of safeguarding Children and yourself whilst in post.

For this role, you will need to have a current DBS that is on the update service and be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council). If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Amy on 02921 014 999 or alternatively forward your CV directly
