Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant job vacancy in Cardiff, Contract position

ITN Mark Education is working with a Large Secondary School in Cardiff who are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant with relevant Special Education Needs (SEN) Experience, Predominantly Emotional and Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD) helping to support KS3 and KS4 pupils in an on-site resource base.

For the successful applicant, this role will start in March and will continue until the end of the academic year (July). There is also potential for the right candidate for this role to continue after the summer holidays or go permanent directly with the school from September 2017.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or Teaching Assistant (TA)
Have experience working with children / young adults with SEN, particularly BESD or SEMH
Additional qualifications such as Team Teach and Cache Level 3 or equivalent are desirable but not essential for this role
Possess a variety of classroom behaviour strategies acquired through your experience within SEN
Be adaptable and able to act quickly in changes of environment
Have previous experience within a Behaviour base / PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) etc
Be able to support children in both groups and on a 1-1 basis
