Accountancy Lecturer

Full time, permanent contract or Full time interim contract

This college is ideally looking for a permanent solution for this position but would consider an interim contract or temporary option whilst continuing with the recruitment process. The role is required to start ASAP.

This post is an ideal opportunity to join a well organised and stable faculty as the sole accountancy lecturer. You will work as part of the faculty team although be autonomous in your subject. This Bristol based employer is a leading provider of the courses.

Both AAT and A level courses are delivered which include both AS & A2 levels; you will be the sole teacher for this subject. The current split per week between the subjects is; 6.5 hours for AAT and 15 hours for A level courses (AS & A2 combined.)

The AAT course has previously been taught 2 evenings per week, Wednesday & Thursday, however there may be some flexibility on the evenings. A level courses are taught during the daytime sessions.

Accountancy is a popular subject with class sizes of approximately 25 students per class. A key skill for students is to have good literacy skills as well as good numeracy skills as, in accountancy; report writing is a key requirement. Therefore the successful candidate must have good skills in both numeracy & literacy and be able to be supportive & motivational towards students.

This role would suit someone with a PGCE qualification and sound skills in accountancy. Alternatively an accountant with PTTLS or DTTLS (or similar) qualifications may be suitable for this post. Either way, you will need to be highly organised to succeed in this post. Of course, applications are welcome from current accountancy lecturer post holders.
