Luton is a great place to live and work with a large selection of schools and colleges. There are 82 schools in Luton altogether, 76 of which are government funded and 8 are privately funded. Of the government funded schools 56 are primaries, 13 are secondaries, 3 are specialist schools and 2 are colleges. Of the privately funded schools 5 are primaries and 3 are secondaries.

Entertainment and Leisure Facilities

Luton is an energetic town with something always going on. The Luton Carnival is the biggest one day carnival in Europe and takes place on the Sunday of the Spring Bank Holiday.

Luton Town Football Club, known as The Hatters,  is a division two football team that has a strong following in the town. They play at Kenilworth Road.

There are three museums in Luton. These are the Luton Museum, which specialises in local history; The Stockwood Craft Museum, which is a collection of rural crafts and trades; and The Mossman Collection, a collection of vintage vehicles.

Transport and Location

Luton is well known as the location of London Luton Airport, one of the major international airports that are based in the UK, making it easy to get out of the country during the Summer holidays!

Luton is only 30 miles North of London, giving it excellent transport links to the rest of the country through the M1, A6 and A505. This also makes it easy to get into London at weekends.

There are 3 train stations in Luton; Luton, Luton Airport Parkway and Leagrave. First Capital Connect and East Midlands Rail operate trains through Luton, with easy access to London and Birmingham.
