The school of today in numbers - what is the real picture?

State-funded and independent schools have recently seen a 1.3% growth in pupil numbers.

Combined with the growing crisis in teacher recruitment, particularly in specialist areas such as maths and science, the pressure on schools is higher than ever.

So, what is the real picture of the school of today?
