Safeguarding
CPSS has a selective recruitment and vetting process which is central to the registration and clearance of all our candidates. The Code of Practice we adhere to is vital for the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, which ensures the highest standard of quality and best practice is achieved. Our standards are continually high and this has been externally verified through annual audits where we have set exemplary industry standards.
The following procedures are followed rigidly for every candidate. Only when all of these checks are completed and cleared will a candidate be accepted onto our supply team.
- A face-to-face competency based interview is conducted by a trained employee of CPSS
- Career history will be checked for omissions or discrepancies
- Eligibility to work in the UK – original documentation
- Full identity checks, (photo and address) – original documentation sighted
- Medical health checks
- Qualifications checked – original documentation sighted
- Two recent, written professional references
- Barred list check (for vulnerable adults)
- Restriction check
- Enhanced DBS check
- Overseas police checks, including an enhanced DBS check for candidates who have worked outside the UK within the last five years
