ITN Mark Annual Conference

At the end of September, employees of ITN Mark travelled from across the country to meet up at a Northamptonshire hotel for their Annual Conference.

The conference served as an important reminder of the company’s values and vision. It also saw one or two reaching for tissues as Managing Director, Roger Marsh regaled the audience with the highly entertaining yet emotional tale of his ten-year old son’s determination to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks climb and the challenges he overcame, making his Dad very proud. Through his ‘Learning through the eyes of our children’ piece, Roger left his captive audience motivated; pondering the thought “Hope, Dream, Believe... and the possibilities are endless.”

With the traditional part of the Annual Conference wrapped up, the second half of the afternoon saw everyone move from the air-conditioning of the conference room to the fresh air of the hotel’s field, were rows of chairs were swapped for a colourful array of inflatables.

Greeted by the crew from ‘Off Limits’, a company who specialise in team building events, the folk of ITN Mark were introduced to six ‘It’s a Knockout’ style games. Having been split into teams, each group was assigned a country. The aim of the game was to secure the most points to win a place on the podium.

With a tournament that included obstacle courses, basketball shootouts, boxing, human fuseball and archery amongst its mix, plenty of mad moments and belly laughs accompanied the loss of inhibitions and embracing of new experiences. Colleagues from across the company joined forces to complete the wonderfully wacky and incredibly entertaining challenges. Equipped with a 'let's go for it' attitude, a sense of humour and perhaps a pinch of competiveness, everyone got stuck in and enjoyed the activities. Three hours of mayhem was wrapped up with the presentation of bronze, silver and gold medals and plenty of weary yet contented smiles.

The evening’s black tie dinner began at 7pm with dresses swishing and bow ties twirling their way into the spectacular, wood-panelled Baronial Hall for a champagne reception. Dinner followed, with the mingling continuing as everyone found their seat at their allocated table. Three courses later, the chatter ceased with the announcement that it was time for the Annual Awards. Congratulations went out to all the winners who were presented with trophies.

A disco and plenty of dancing rounded off a very successful and fun-filled event.
